Lok Kuang Wooi is a corporate member of the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM), and a practicing architect based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is the principal of Wooi Architect, established in November 1996. He was born in the northern regions of Malaysia where he spent his childhood amongst traditional malay villages. The authentic and sustainable way of life in the villages had greatly influenced his outlook in architecture. He is frequently invited to local universities and colleges as a guest lecturer and critic. He was appointed as an adjunct professor at University Putra Malaysia from 2008 to 2015. Lok’s designs are recognised by PAM for architectural excellence with works published in numerous journals and books, including Architecture Malaysia, Architecture Asia, and Malaysian Timber Council. His project was featured in ‘25 Tropical Houses in Singapore and Malaysia’ (perriplus 2006) and New Malaysian House (perriplus 2007).
